Mayor Summer Youth Employment Program(MSYEP) is an employment program Malden does to get youth from ages 14-24 summer jobs and learn how to better set themselves up for success in the future. MSYEP employs youth in various jobs and like candle making, Department of Public Work(DPW), and video production. At the end of the summer MSYEP decided to have a fun event to thank the kids for all their hard work. With small speeches from MSYEP Co-Director Kashawna Harling, Mayor Gary Christenson, and Senator Jason Lewis, with even a surprise visit from Massachusetts State Representative Paul Donato! And now it’s off the races where the kids played games like Jumbo Jenga, mini golf, foosball, and the fan favorite dunk tank. The kids were then treated to pizza and ice cream for lunch.
